This was nearly perfect. The one downside: Because every cell had been painstakingly named, when I rearranged the sheet to remove taxable items and add more rows(this was for billing medical items) it caused me to need to redo the formula calculations in some places. Other than that, fantastic.

I found the form a great basic invoice which fit my needs very well. While I am not as proficient in Excel as some other programs I was still able to modify the template to add headings and change descriptions as necessary for my requirements.

Saving the template in Office 2008 format for the Mac removes the macros which affects some of the calculations including the taxable check boxes on each invoice line.

The invoice is customizable but it is not clear which areas you can remove/edit without affecting the usability of the invoice.

This item works well as written. When it comes to making changes then there is a problem. I cannot access the macros to adjust the tax ratio lines plus these lines do not calculate. There is a column to mark an item taxable and the assumtion was that a tax rate would automatically be calculated in...wrong! But as I said at the beginning, if you want a straight forward invoice, add a logo and go then this will work for you. Just disregard the tax rate lines.

The application totally fails to open. System is XP/Toshiba Satellite laptop. It trys to open, I get to see some of the Excel layout and then it goes into "Not Responding" mode and the only way I can get out of it is to CTRL-Alt-Del and kill the Excel.exe process, it hangs forever.

I was able to modify the header to suit my needs,and the template does calculate the total of the line items,but I wasn't able to figure out how to get it to calculate the taxes or modify them to apply to my state,S.C. I also would like to see it automaticly generate the invoice numbers acording to my set point. Is this possible ? And can you help with the tax problem.

It looked like it could be a nice program, but once I downloaded it I couldn't find clear, detailed instructions on how to use the program. None of the radio buttons worked, so the "Help" menu was of no help. I quickly grew frustrated and deleted the program. From what I could tell, the program appeared to be very sophisticated. It was probably more than I was looking for. But, since I could not figure out how to use the program, I didn't even try to see if the sophistication was benificial.

I have been trying for years to find an invoicing system that is simple and can be modified.
I have just used this for the first time and it is absolutely fantastic. I would like to be able to add a different picture to each invoice, our customer's ad, but havent sorted that out yet. If anyone knows how to do this I would like to hear about it. Also my logo does not print??? but I am sure I will figure it out.

I have not used it yet for two reasons:

1) I was pressed for time and was unwilling to perform the (simple) setup to use it.

2) I use openoffice and did not want to convert it (yet).

The template look good when downloaded, the problem I encountered was that I needed to change most of the setting (not in the USA), ie the tax codes address methods couldn find where to change it, maybe just me. Would of like to use it, but to many changes. Suggest that a generic template would be worth considering.

Also checked out the MS library - too much - there is really no point in looking for something that is 'ideal' - 'cause it isn't there!

Excel Template not up to snuff

Hi,

perhaps I am not operated something correctly. In Excell, you can import graphics directly into the logo space without first creating a file.

The invoice functions don't all seem to be working. The form will multiply qnty x price, but will not perform subtotal and total functions.

This template is simple and functional. It does not appear to have the ability to store multiple products and customers that easy invoice does.

But this one is very directly WYSIWYG. That is good. The right hand panel with basic instructions would be easier to use with a white, rather than a purple, background.

The template was not user friendly. There were some minor changes I wanted to make because they did not apply to the specific service being invoiced but it would not let me. I also wanted to delete some things but it also would not let me. I am sure there are ways but I did not have time to study it to see how I could make the modifications.

Easy Invoicing

The template was easy to use. I unlocked the protection on the worksheet so that I could change names and delete certain fields. Overall, it saved a lot of time modifying this template rather than creating an invoice form from scratch.
